They said it was ambitious, they said it was out of our reach, they said it was better if we just quit and forget about it, and they said it was impossible. Well, it is, but not for God. For God, it was not ambitious, it was in His reach, it was not an option to quit, and it was possible. He was the only reason why the play was able to push through. We offered it all to Him and not only were we able to do the play, but we were able to do it wonderfully all thanks to Him.
Now that the play is over, I sort of miss practicing for it. I miss the vocal exercises that really helped me (though I’m not really one of the lead roles), helping the kids with their make ups which they always seem to erase, helping the guys out by fixing their collars (trying to fix their collars actually), going out for lunch with friends, going to the mall when we have a lot of free time, socializing with people I’m too shy to go near when in school (mostly because we have the same roles), feeling that push Ms. Annie gives us that tells me to do better even though it is out of my character to do whatever she just told me, and seeing the people who worked so hard for this play to happen so happy after every practice knowing that we’re improving every single day. It would have never been possible without us all doing our part. Even those who were just part of the back-up singers like the beggars and factory workers who may have seemed very useless were infact very much important. They sang loud and full of emotions that it really expressed all our hard work. We really gave it our all and I’m very happy for all who did their part and even the people who worked backstage and set up the stage. I’m really grateful to all of you, but most of all, I’m very grateful to our Almighty Father for turning this dream into a reality. This can only be His doing and His doing only. Nothing of this could have happened without Him by our side guiding us and leading us from beginning to end.
I really hope that we can do this again someday. I don’t care if others will judge me for this but just remember that only God has the right to judge for only He knows what is truly in our hearts. This is my blog and my opinion. Judge me in your own blog if you want but that won’t change my mind. I was able to see God’s glory and power through this play. It showed me that anything truly is possible with God. I’ve always believed in this but I don’t always see this happen in my life. The feeling of experiencing God’s hand upon you truly is indescribable and I would really love to relive that experience.
It was a great experience. Sean got better in singing, Evee became more confident, Erica really improved in both acting and singing (imagine acting like your complete opposite), Jerome was able to add his own fun attitude into his part, Kim was able to touch the audience’s hearts with her song, Julia really convinced the crowd with her act, Andrew took Ms. Annie’s criticism well and improved, Sherwin really looked ready and willing to go to war, the students gave it their all, and Emman was just great. They were really pushed to their limits. Ms. Annie was strict, but also funny. She threatened to shoot us with a bazooka; she didn’t even know what it was. She only thought it sounded threatening. Hehehe… XDDD
It may have been hard, tiring, and super frustrating, but in the end, God was able to make things work out for us. He really came through for us and the play truly does show how gracious and amazing He is both through the show and through the way He helped us with the preparation. Because of Him, the dream is no longer a dream, but a reality. :)))
Pictures I stole from my friends in Facebook. XD
I love Emman and Sherwin's faces. XDDD
